| The Hanover Township Fire Department responded to a total of 85 calls for service during March 2026, continuing its commitment to protecting the residents and surrounding communities of Hanover Township and beyond.
Of those responses, 63 incidents occurred within Hanover Township, with additional calls handled through mutual aid and regional support. The department also provided 13 mutual aid responses to neighboring municipalities and completed 7 Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) assignments, reinforcing its role as a critical regional partner.
Motor vehicle incidents remained the most frequent call type, accounting for 21 responses during the month. Crews also handled 11 dispatched box alarms, resulting in 5 working fires, 15 EMS assists and various other service calls ranging from gas leaks, flooding calls, and wires down incidents. These calls demonstrate the diverse range of emergencies handled daily by the department and it's personnel.
Department members logged an impressive 377 hours of training throughout the month of March, focusing on critical areas such as vehicle rescue operations, hazardous materials response, arson recognition and scene preservations, and building walkthroughs and familiarization to assist in pre-planning of emergency responses.
Engine 1 was the busiest apparatus, responding to 32 incidents, followed by Rescue 5 with 22 responses. |
