Engine Responds on 3rd Alarm Mutual Aid in Wilkes Barre City
March 13, 2026
The Engine and Chief responded on a third alarm assignment to East Northampton Street in the Heights section of the city for a residential structure fire. The Engine company was initially assigned to establish a water supply from Pershing Street but was later reassigned to support city crews operating at the scene. Engine 1 personnel worked alongside the crew from KFFFD to conduct overhaul inside the structure.
City units arriving first encountered heavy fire coming from the windows on the first and second floors of the residence, which was threatening a neighboring property. There were reports of possible entrapment, but no injuries were reported at the scene. The Engine and Chief remained on site for a brief period before being released back to service.
