| The Hanover Township Fire Department recently visited the Lyndwood Early Learning Center of the Hanover Area School District to present an engaging and educational program on fire prevention and safety.
The visit, held as part of Fire Prevention Month, gave students a hands-on opportunity to learn important safety lessons in a fun and interactive way. Firefighters taught the children what to do in case of a fire, including how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll” if their clothes catch fire. Students also learned how to react when they hear a smoke alarm — by getting out quickly and staying out until help arrives.
After the safety demonstrations, the children enjoyed a guided tour of the fire apparatus, where they explored fire trucks up close and learned about the equipment firefighters use to keep the community safe. The highlight of the day was a special visit from Sparky the Fire Dog, who greeted the students and reinforced fire safety messages with plenty of smiles and high-fives.
The Hanover Township Fire Department’s visit was both educational and exciting, helping the youngest members of the community understand the importance of fire safety in their homes and schools.
The Hanover Area School District and Lyndwood Early Learning Center expressed their appreciation to the firefighters for their continued dedication to community outreach and safety education. |
