Truck 4 was dispatched by Luzerne County Communications to respond on the 1st Alarm Residential Structure Fire Assignment into Laurel Run Borough in the Laurel Run Estates Mobile Home Community for the report of a Residential Structure Fire. The caller reporting a mobile home filled with smoke. Truck 4 and Fire Command quickly responded to the location. Truck 4 was first arriving unit to a single story mobile home with a smoke condition from the eaves on the Delta side, the Truck Co. established initial Incident Command and then turned command over to the 155 Assistant Chief. Homeowner originally advised that there is possibly fire inside the walls of the home.

Crews from Truck 4 assembled and went inside the home to investigate. The initial reports from the scene were confirmed with a thick smoke condition in the home and elevated heat levels in the kitchen area. Truck 4 crews found an active fire in the kitchen and were able to knock down the fire with a 2.5 gallon pressurized water can with F500. Crews then went to work opening up the walls and extinguishing any remaining fire and hot spots with an 1.75 hose line, before performing negative pressure ventilation.

Crews operated for a little over an hour before being released by Command. One pet was confirmed deceased from the fire, no other injuries to report. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Laurel Run Fire Department although it does not appear to be suspicious.
