| Cortland, NY - Four members of the Hanover Township Fire Department recently attended the Res-Q-Jack Stabilization University held in Cortland, New York. This intensive, hands-on training program focused on advanced vehicle stabilization and heavy rescue techniques, providing firefighters with the skills needed to manage complex vehicle and machinery rescue incidents safely and efficiently. The one-day course brought together emergency responders from across the United States and Internationally to train on real-world rescue scenarios using Res-Q-Jack stabilization systems and other specialized rescue equipment. Participants learned techniques for stabilizing vehicles in a variety of positions — including side-resting, roof-resting, and over-embankment situations — as well as methods for lifting and patient extrication under challenging conditions. Representing the Hanover Township Fire Department were career staff FF/EMT Ryan Kairo Jr., FF/EMT Austin Nocera, and volunteer staff members FF Gavin Whitesell, and FF Eric Eppler. Each member successfully completed the training and earned certification in advanced vehicle stabilization operations. The Hanover Township Fire Department remains committed to continuous training and professional development to ensure the highest level of service and safety for the residents of Hanover Township and surrounding communities. |
