Members of the Hanover Township Fire Department recently participated in a Heavy Vehicle Rescue Training hosted by Falzone’s Towing & Recovery in Wilkes-Barre. The hands-on course focused on advanced rescue techniques involving large commercial vehicles, enhancing responders’ capabilities to manage complex incidents safely and effectively.

The training was led by instructors specializing in heavy vehicle extrication and recovery operations. Participants gained practical experience using heavy-duty towing and stabilization equipment, hydraulic rescue tools, and lifting systems designed for tractor-trailers, buses, and other oversized vehicles.

This specialized training emphasized teamwork between fire, rescue, and towing professionals—highlighting how coordinated efforts can make the difference in time-sensitive emergencies involving trapped or injured occupants.

The Hanover Township Fire Department extends its appreciation to Falzone’s Towing & Recovery for hosting and supporting the training, as well as to all participating members for their continued commitment to improving rescue readiness and community safety. Hanover Township members were joined by members of the Wright Township and Dorrance Township Fire Department's for the training class.
